For as long as I can remember, I've been fascinated by the question of why people do what they do.
Long before I entered the field of psychotherapy, I found myself drawn to Eastern philosophy and contemplative traditions that viewed suffering not as a sign of brokenness, but as an invitation to deeper understanding. That perspective stayed with me, but it wasn't until navigating my own childhood trauma and later diagnosis of PTSD and complex PTSD that these ideas became deeply personal.
Healing, I discovered, wasn't about erasing what had happened. It was about making sense of it. It was about understanding the adaptations that had helped me survive and learning new ways of relating to myself and the world.
My years working in palliative care offered another profound lesson. Sitting with people at the end of life stripped away what was superficial and brought into focus what mattered most: connection, meaning, authenticity, and the relationships we have with ourselves and those around us. It reinforced my belief that healing isn't simply about symptom reduction. It's about living more fully.
Later, my work in addictions and correctional settings further challenged the way I understood human behaviour. I met people whose stories revealed extraordinary resilience beneath circumstances that many would simply label as pathology or dysfunction. Again and again, I saw that when we understand someone's history, their behaviours begin to make sense.
I also came to recognize that pain left unexamined often perpetuates itself. The wounds we don't acknowledge or heal shape the way we relate to ourselves and others, creating suffering that extends far beyond the original experience. In many ways, pain gives rise to more pain until someone has the opportunity to understand it, make sense of it, and choose a different path.
Whether through my own experiences or the privilege of walking alongside thousands of others, I kept arriving at the same conclusion:
People make sense.
-
No two people arrive in therapy with the same history, strengths, or goals. For that reason, I don't believe in one-size-fits-all treatment.
My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and deeply personalized. Together, we'll explore the connections between your thoughts, emotions, body, relationships, and life experiences, making sense of how your past continues to shape your present.
Depending on your unique needs and goals, our work may draw from somatic psychotherapy, attachment-based approaches, parts work, mindfulness, trauma-informed breathwork and yoga, psychedelic-assisted therapy, and psychedelic preparation and integration. Rather than following a predetermined protocol, these approaches are used thoughtfully and intentionally, supporting deeper understanding and lasting change while remaining tailored to you.
While I value evidence-based practice, I believe the therapeutic relationship itself is one of the most important ingredients in healing. My hope is to create a space where you feel genuinely seen, understood, and safe enough to explore even the parts of yourself you've learned to hide.
-
Reaching out takes courage. My hope is that whether we work together directly or I simply help point you in the right direction, you leave your first conversation feeling more informed, more supported, and less alone.
Let's start with a conversation.
Whether you're simply exploring psychedelic-assisted therapy or ready to take the next step, it's normal to have questions. I'd be happy to answer them, explain our process, and help you understand your options.
